RANCH HISTORY

The Double MM Ranch was established on June 9, 2001.  It was originally purchased as a place to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country setting and to get away from the hustle and bustle of our city lifestyle.  With the ranch located on the Guadalupe River between the towns of Victoria and Cuero, it was all that, but it seemed to be missing something.  After much thought, we decided that it needed to become a home for the Texas Longhorn.

We set out to make a longhorn purchase and came home with a young steer and a yearling heifer to keep him company.  We put them in the front pasture so we would be able to watch them grow and to share with friends and family when they visited the ranch.  Since the purchase of the first two animals, there have been many more that have come to call Double MM Ranch home.

At the start of the ranch, we made private treaty purchases from such ranches as La Paloma Longhorns, Alpha Omega Ranch, Cedar Creek Cattle Company, Taylor Cattle Company, and Lonesome Pines Ranch.  After "getting our feet wet in the business", we started to attend public sales and have purchased some awesome animals, from established breeding programs, that fit into the program we wanted to build.

We have found the Texas Longhorn industry to be very exciting and have met many wonderful people along the way.  Everybody is always willing to share information and stories about their favorite animals.  Most people would also agree that one of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors is by watching these majestic animals make their way through the pastures.

We invite you to call or stop by for a visit.  We are always happy to share our animals with visitors and friends.  We will get into the truck and take a scenic tour of our little piece of South Texas Heaven that is graced by the presence of the Texas Longhorn.
